· · On September 17th, 2007, Dr. Musa A. Haxhiu passed away after a long illness and fight with cancer. Dr. Haxhiu was a remarkable scholar and scientist. Our community is deeply indebted for what he had achieved for the Department of Physiology & Biophysics, the College of Medicine and Howard University.
Dr. Haxhiu brought the first Specialized Neuroscience Research Program (SNRP1) to the Department of Physiology & Biophysics and Howard University. He ensured its renewal for a second five year reward period, i.e., SNRP2 in 2005. Subsequently, he relocated back to Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH. more...
· · Dr. Richard MILLIS received the 2006 CETLA award for innovative teaching ("Teaching with Technology Award")
· · Dr. Dexter LEE was nominated to one of two HUMAA Endowed Research Chairs. The two-year award carries start-up and research funds for junior faculty as aid to launch a research career.
